Frequently asked questions

What is llms.txt and does my PrestaShop store need it?

It is a file at the root of your site that tells AI assistants what you sell and where everything is: categories, offers, shipping and returns. Without it, ChatGPT or Perplexity have to work it out by reading whole pages. AI Friendly generates it in one click and keeps it up to date, together with llms-full.txt, the summary of your whole catalog.

If I block GPTBot, will my store disappear from ChatGPT?

No. GPTBot only collects content to train models. ChatGPT answers rely on other crawlers (OAI-SearchBot and ChatGPT-User), which AI Friendly allows by default. You can shut the door on training and still show up in the answers.

Does it affect my rankings on Google or Bing?

No. Googlebot, Bingbot and the other search engines are excluded before any rule is evaluated: they are never blocked, redirected or slowed down, not even with total lockdown on. The dashboard includes a check that verifies this on your real files.

Does it change my robots.txt or .htaccess?

Only inside its own block, marked «BEGIN AI Friendly» and «END AI Friendly». Before every change it saves a dated copy and records it in a log, where you can restore any version in one click. Your own rules are left untouched.

Can I see how many sales come from ChatGPT and other AI assistants?

Yes. The Statistics tab shows the visits, orders and revenue coming from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and Copilot, plus the daily activity of each bot.

Does it work if my server runs nginx?

Yes. Blocking is enforced by PrestaShop on any server, and the module also generates the nginx rules to enforce it before PHP is reached. If the module URLs return a 404 error, enable friendly URLs or the static llms.txt files option.

What happens if I uninstall it?

Every rule and file it created is removed, along with its settings and statistics. The backups of robots.txt and .htaccess are kept in case you need them.
